I finally made a lechon manok recipe air fryer in our kitchen!
Rotisserie chicken in America pales in comparison to how Filipinos prepare it. I’m not talking about the chicken you can have at a restaurant, but rather the rotisserie chicken you can purchase at your local grocery store or Costco.
When I’m too sleepy to cook, I buy a rotisserie chicken from our local grocery store, season it with salt and pepper, then air fried it for 5-10 minutes.
The recipe is quite easy. However, marinating the chicken requires some time. It was one of the greatest lechon manok I’ve ever tasted (and I am not biased). It’s delicious and juicy. The sauce was a nice touch.
Ingredients for lechon manok air fryer recipe
- 3 inches Ginger, sliced
- 5 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 medium red onion, sliced
- 5 pieces dried bay leaves, crumbled
- 1 stalk lemongrass, bottom part crushed
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup sugar
Note: Submerge your chicken in your brine and refrigerate for 3-4 hours.

- Take the chicken out of the brine and blot it dry with a paper towel.
- 1 tbsp butter or vegetable oil, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper (season as desired)
- Apply it to your chicken.
- Fill with fresh lemongrass and green onion.
- Air fried for 1 hour at 350°F, 30 minutes per side.
