Mediterranean Goat Cheese Pizza Recipe

Last year, we threw an office Christmas party at our house with handmade pizzas. This Mediterranean Goat Cheese Pizza Recipe was a huge success!!

Even with the baking time, it only took about an hour to make 🙂 If you cut them into little pieces, they make an excellent appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups warm water
  • 3½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tsp sugar

Toppings for Pizza

  • 1/2 cup Saputo Mozzarellissima Shredded Cheese
  • 1 marinated roasted pepper, sliced into strips
  • 1/2 cup Woolwich Dairy Original Soft Fresh Goat Cheese Crumbles
  • 1 clove garlic, finely sliced
  • 3/4 cup fresh cherry tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup Kalamata olives, pitted
  • 1 tbsp fresh oregano
  • 4 anchovy fillets

How to make Mediterranean Goat Cheese Pizza

  • Combine the sugar and water in a large mixing dish.
  • Place the yeast on top of the water and leave it alone for 5 minutes.
  • Warm the olive oil and table salt together by swirling with a fork.
  • Add 2 cups of flour gradually, stirring with a fork until the flour is completely dissolved and the mixture turns sticky.
  • Knead the dough with 1 cup of extra flour before incorporating it.
  • Transfer the dough and other ingredients to a floured work surface.
  • Knead the dough for 5–7 minutes, or until all of the flour is integrated and the dough is smooth and supple.
  • Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and form it into a ball.
  • Allow it to settle at room temperature for 90 minutes.
  • Form the dough into four balls.
  • Preheat the oven to 450°F with the top rack in place. If you want to cook a lot of pizza, invest in a pizza stone to help bake the dough uniformly and crisply.
  • Roll a dough ball into a 40-cm circle.
  • Spread the olive oil, garlic, salt, and oregano mixture on the dough.
  • Top the dough with the mozzarella cheese, then the goat cheese, peppers, caramelized onions, and olives.
  • Mozzarella and goat cheese are generously sprinkled over the top.
  • Transfer the assembled pizza to the preheated pizza stone or sheet pan.
  • Bake for 20 minutes before serving.
