Pizza Dippers Recipe

I HATE trying to come up with interesting child projects. I’m just not imaginative enough to cut out animals and make a whole zoo out of food or to purchase a ton of glitter and make gorgeous Elsa beds like our little one did at a birthday party (which, by the way, sweetest mom ever for taking that on and being so honest about how it took way longer than the promised 10 minutes). 

I’m not a cool mom. I’d rather have kids spray shaving cream (one ingredient, quick cleaning) on a table or chalk paint the driveway. However, I am working on it. I enjoy allowing the ladies to be creative, even though I am not. So, while I can’t be a Pinterest mom like everyone else, and that’s great with me, I can make a tasty, kid-friendly snack for the kids to enjoy with their friends after school. 

These quick pizza dippers are more my speed. I appreciate that I can put out the ingredients and let the kids go to town on preparing them, leaving me with nothing except baking to do. “Win-win!” as our eldest would say. Furthermore, cleaning is a breeze. My mother deserves a medal for the quantity of dishes she did while raising five children. 

It’s no surprise that we had the rule that we had to put our own dishes in the dishwasher! P.S. I enjoy it when cheese bakes onto anything, such as a casserole, and the cheese bubbles up on the sides or onto a pan. It’s my fave. Please don’t say you don’t pluck it off and eat it.

Ingredients for Pizza Dippers

  • 1 Roll of ready-to-bake pizza crust
  • 8 Mozzarella Cheese Sticks
  • 1 Small Jar of Marinara sauce
  • +Butter/Seasonings
  • 1 Package of Turkey Pepperoni’s – Feel free to use any kind of pepperoni! OR switch to any other favorite pizza topping.

Instructions to make the perfect Pizza Dippers

  • Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  • Spread the pizza crust into a broad, thin layer on a lightly oiled cookie sheet.
  • Make 8 rectangles out of the dough.
  • 4 Turkey Pepperonis should be placed in the center of each rectangle piece of pizza dough. 
  • If your child adores pepperoni, add extra!
  • Open the package and add one cheese stick on top of each pepperoni layer.
  • Roll the dough up. 
  • Begin by bending each little end of the dough to hold in the toppings before rolling it up.
  • Spray each roll with butter and sprinkle with spices. 
  • I prefer to season my food with Italian seasoning and garlic salt.
  • Cook your pizza sticks for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Serve the Pizza Dippers with Marinara Sauce on the side.
